The position I take so that no shooter hits my Don't Pass chips is either SL1 or SR1.

My DP with odds got mowed down several times this past week at stick 1; must have had the magnets set to 11; majority were seven outs immediately or on the next roll, D.N8r
Your lack of faith in The Force disturbs me, Commander.......

Given SL1/SR1 are the favorites for most shooters, I'm surprised you don't catch hell for taking the spaces.Dylanfreake wrote:The position I take so that no shooter hits my Don't Pass chips is either SL1 or SR1.

Re: Jedi Mind tricks and the Dark Side
Well, once a few years ago a hot shot shooter wanted my SL1 position at the table and offered me a green chip If I would move over to SL2. I did and he promptly went point 7 and left the table.
This was during a weekend when one of Heavy`s competitors was having a seminar and I am assuming that that guy was attending the seminar.
But if anyone wants to buy my position at the table , I am willing to sell it , but I may hold out for a black chip.

If you shoot from SR, the DP at the end of the table is off to the right..so you should have a clear lane if your toss is on line. DP chip walls shouldn't even come into play.

A green chip? Talk about adding injury to insult.Dylanfreake wrote:Well, once a few years ago a hot shot shooter wanted my SL1 position at the table and offered me a green chip If I would move over to SL2. I did and he promptly went point 7 and left the table.

A black chip is a good start point, anything less wouldn't be worth the conversation.
Played yesterday, normal corner spot, had three players move to different spots. Guess they couldn't handle playing next to a don't player. Young guys, probably read don't players are bad news.

Chips are going to get hit regardless whether you're on the PL or DP. People just can't toss, hell I've seen the box get hit by two dice at one time. Go figure ...thnick wrote:If you shoot from SR, the DP at the end of the table is off to the right..so you should have a clear lane if your toss is on line. Re: Jedi Mind tricks and the Dark Side
What I try for is to shoot from SR 2 and have the dice go straight down the PL towards the big 6 and 8 box and drop just beyond the PL.If you are tossing from SR anywhere near the DP box.. man you are angling a shot. Now..if you are SO..that's another situation, but there should be room since DP is forward of the PL..unless the chips are stacked 6 inches high. Which I guess they could be..Time to leave the table or switch to NO TEN MY FRIEN...

Re: Jedi Mind tricks and the Dark Side
A lot of times when I buy in and put a DP wager down , a player next to me will say, "This is your kind of table." my reply is that , "I am good at turning cold tables into hot tables."
A few years ago when I was keeping up with streaks of wins and losses, the longest strings of losses that I had in a row were 13 at the old Sheraton and the longest strings of wins in a row were 10 at Hollywood .
I don`t keep up with anything now except hours played , money won and lost , Tier credits per hour , comps per hour and where is the nearest restroom.

The older we get the more important that last one becomes.

Damn! You got a lot of stuff to track.Dylanfreake wrote:I don`t keep up with anything now except hours played , money won and lost , Tier credits per hour , comps per hour and where is the nearest restroom.
Me, it's wins, losses and the nearest restroom. The restroom is important if I'm loosing, it's a piss on it type of thing.

I just write down the time and win or loss. The Tier credits and comps I keep up with on my account on the casinos website.

Same here. I'm not into complicated, just like the way I play.
