What to expect on a casino on a Cruise Ship

This weekend, my wife & I are off for our first ever cruise. Going to Bermuda and will be docked for 3 days.

I realize there will probably only be one Craps table, but what can I expect regarding table price ($5.00, $10.00 or more table?).
I also realize the casino is only open when out in the water (does that also mean during the 3 days we are docked in Bermuda the casino will be closed?
I've read you can use cash or your room card for buy in. How is cashing in handled - do they give me the chips and I go to the cashier or do they keep track until my next session, and I don't cash out until before I get off the ship?

Any other tips or points I should when playing on a cruise ship casino rather than a land casino?

Mycoalsmith,

I was on a Royal Caribbean cruise a couple of weeks ago and here is what i experienced:

2 tables that were both open most of the time at sea and were both $10.

The casino was only open when at sea.

I used cash for buy-in at the table. I did use my room card at the cashier for additional cash. When I bought in is when they gave me chips and at the end of my session I would just go to the cashier and cash out like a normal land based casino.

I gave them my room card every time I bought in as if it was a casino loyalty card and at the end of the week I had gambled enough that they gave me a $300 discount coupon for my next cruise.

Hope that helps.

Either be standing there before it opens like 7-8 usually or go late night. Otherwise my experience although limited is it's crowded with people standing around watching a friend play

Unless I'm mistaken the ships running to Bermuda will have one craps table. On Royal Caribbean the Oasis Class Ships have two tables while (I think) the rest have only one. Generally casinos can open thirty minutes after leaving any port. There is no gambling in Bermuda, and I believe that includes dockside gambling. Be sure you have all of your paperwork in order, including passports.
