Trip 5/26-June 3

Setting and influencing the dice roll is just part of the picture. To beat the dice you have to know how to bet the dice. Whether you call it a "system," a "strategy," or just a way to play - this is the place to discuss it.

Trip 5/26-June 3

Post by acpa » Wed Jun 10, 2015 7:39 pm

Played in Vegas-Laughlin from May 26-June 4. Had some interesting things happen. Thursday-Friday I was at some Continuing Education during the day but got a lot of play in, all as alone wolf as I was before the CE. Drove to Laughlin Saturday and played there Saturday and Sunday. Drove back to Vegas on Monday and registered for a VP tournament that both Sally and I were in. Stayed off strip when we first in Vegas even though my CE was at a strip property. Stayed at the casino at the south end of Laughlin and then on the Strip when we came back to Vegas.

For the first time in several years my casino SRR when I wasn’t setting for the seven was less than 6.00, 5.87 to be exact. This was 3 more 7s than random based on 786 rolls over 121 times I threw the dice. As could be expected I had a mid triple digit loss on my rolls.

Thoughts and comments about individual sessions will follow later.

Which once did you prefer to play in, Vegas or Laughlin? I haven't ventured down there (Laughlin) yet.

Two places are entirely different. Some good and some bad tables in both towns. We are low rollers and wouldn.t have comped rooms for the weekend in Vegas so we had comped rooms.

Some details of the trip.

Stopped on the edge of town on the way in so Sally could redeem some May coupon she had. Craps table was empty and I started with a triple digit win with a roll of 20. Made the 8 twice and the 6 once along with two comeout natural winners. Coiuldn’t make the point of 6 the second time though. Followed with a roll of seven that I was a small winner on. The point for the next roll was the 6 again, followed by an 8 and then the seven out.

Next roll was a come out 8 followed by the seven out.

After one roll by someone else, I came out with a 5 and I rolled 13 more times before the seven out and managed to lose even though I did hit the 8 twice. Then had my first point seven out for the trip. Followed up with rolls of 10 and 3, both of which were losers and left with a mid double digit win.

Checked in where we were stay.ing. Couldn’t put anything together, had rolls of 5, 8, 4, and 2 all of which were losers before taking a break.

When I went back, things weren’t going much better. Had rolls of 5, 4 and 3 (all losers) before changing tables. Started out at the new table with a roll of 10 and my first win after checking in. After losing a little on another shooter, had a roll of 25, starting out with my first two points being 4 and rolling five 8s, before having a point of 9 that I couldn’t make.

This got me up a single digit on this buy in so I called it a night. Down for the trip so far now..

Yeah, I hear you. I prefer to play on The Strip (based on previous experiences), but I haven't ventured out to Primm/Laughlin/Jean just yet.

Day 2

Started the next day down the street from where I was staying. Empty table and I started with my second point seven out for the trip. Followed that with a roll of 22 which started with a comeout natural.. Then made points of 8, 10, and 5 but couldn’t make the 8 second time it was the point. This roll put me up mid double digit at this casino. Had additional rolls of 7 that I lost on, followed by a roll of 10 that I made money on then a roll of 15 that started with back to back 7s and then a point of 9 I couldn’t repeat so I left up at this casino.

Drove down to the strip and even though it was mid week, couldn’t find a $5 table. Had rolls of 12 and 13, both small winners before the table got full. Lost money on the other shooter and so was down at that casino.

Further down the strip found another empty $10 table and had another point seven out followed by rolls of 7, 6,10, and 2. Made $2 on the roll of 10 and lost on the other rolls so I’m down low triple digits at that casino. On down the strip, found a $5 table and had rolls of 12, 17, and 5. Made money on the first two but lost on the thirds. Had 5 comeout natural winners and 2 comeout craps.

At the adjacent casino it was back to a $10 table. Had rolls of 4, 7, and 4 before changing tables. Then had rolls of 8, 7, 19, and 5. Made money on the 8 and 19. Started out with a point of 9 and rolled three 6s and 8s before making the 9 and then coming out with a point of 6 before the seven out. Even made money on the roll of 5 since I made a point of 10 before the sevenout on the point of 6.

Went back to where we were staying and started out with three point seven out followed by a poi of 8 then a 6 and sevenout.

This casino has a bet called the repeater. You bet on any of the numbers except the seven, roll two 2s win $40, roll three 3s make $50, roll four 4s make $65, roll five 9s make $80 and roll six 6s make $90 for each $1 bet on a particular number. The high side works the same way. Like the all, small, tall bet a comeout seven loses the bet.

I generally don’t bet these bets but had notice that some people had won on some of my rolls. I bet $10, $1 on each of the numbers the next time I got the dice and figured I’d use a come betting approach.

Well my next roll started with a comeout seven so I replaced my $10 repeater bet. Had a roll of 32, with no come out sevens other than the first one so I rolled two 2s, three 11s, four 4s, and 5 nines. For a $235 winner. That roll also put me up for the day on my regular rolls and recovered my loss from the previous day.

Actually the repeater win was icing on the cake. I tried to say that my regular wins got me ahead for the trip

Day three results.

Didn’t play the next day until after I had complete my CE for the day. Checked out the table where my classes were being held but the two tables were $10 and $25 and both were fairly well populated and my preferred spot wasn’t available. Tables where I was staying were $5 and also fairly full but my spot was available after we had eaten supper.

First roll started with two comeout sevens and I the established a point of 8 which I made two rolls later. Rolled another comeout seven and then the eight which I couldn’t repeat. Small winner on the nine rolls of the dice.

Next time with the dice was a 12 throw roll, the only field roll out of the 12 was a natural winner of the 11 after I made the 8 once, so I was a small winner.

Followed that up with a roll of seven and my only winners were two comeout sevens to start the roll. So lost a little on that roll. With losses on other shooters this loss left me up only $2 for this session. Next roll was only 9 and the loss may me negative for this session with only one winning roll in the 9.

Next two rolls were 12 which was a winner and then a roll of 8 which was a small loss.

Then had another roll of 12 that was a winner even though I had no comeout winners or made any points. I did have 10 non field rolls out of the 12.

Followed with rolls of 5 and 4 which were losers. Table had filled up while I had those rolls but I saw another table that was empty that I moved to.

I was down over one Benjamin when I moved to the new table. Decided to bet the Repeater bet and had a roll of 27. Collected on the 3 and 8 on the repeater. This roll again got me in a gain position for regular bets so the repeater wins was again icing on the cake.

Followed that roll with roll of 15 including making points of 4 and 9 and three comeout seven win. Win on that roll was almost equal to the regual win on the roll of 27. Followed with a roll of 16 which only had a low double digit win, about a sixth of the roll of 15.

Called it quits for the day since the table had filled up.
