What to expect when you join the forum

Welcome to the original Axis Power Craps forum. Before you register on the forum or get too deep in the belly of the beast, please take a moment to read the posts on this section. The vast majority of the content of this site is for registered members only. There is no monthly subscription charge to be a member, however, there is a one-time $12 Registration fee. This fee is in place to discourage spammers, flamers, and trolls from registering, and to help filter out Spambot registrations on the forum. Should you choose to register and pay the $12 fee, there is no instant gratification when registering! All new members require a two-step administrative approval that includes an IP address verification by a moderator. Again, this is to assist us in keeping Spambots out of the group. We do not accept registrations from IP addresses from countries known to sponsor Spambots, ransomware, or hacking of websites in general, including but not limited to Russia, China, and North Korea. It's ultimately for your account protection and benefit. I promise it will make your stay here much more enjoyable.

What to expect when you join the forum

Post by gargoil » Fri Dec 30, 2016 3:14 pm

I have been a member on this forum for a few years now and I thought I would post my point of view of what you get when you join and have access to the members only section.

1- The topics. There is a wealth of knowledge around the game of craps, how to play both sides of the force (Do / don't), simple betting strategies, dice sets, dice tosses and others. What brings it home for me is that most of the knowledge is based on players experiences and trial / errors over years of live play and practice. You get to communicate with other members and ask questions about their thoughts and experiences. Most are like minded folks around the topics but have a unique approach that worked for them individually. I was able to capitalize on that when I first joined and took the good from several individuals and made it work for me.

2- The people. Most of the forum members know each other and have met on more than one occasion whether thru a class or a forum hook-up. So you get to chat with and meet "REAL" people. No nonsense folks with nothing better to do than sit behind a computer and type all day. These people are genuine and open to helping others excel at craps and for many they like to hang out and play craps. There are also hook up opportunities where folks would announce their next trip and try and meet up with others to play. Also HEAVY keeps a close eye for duplicate sign on (same person multiple names or Sock puppet) and that helps to make sure forum members are real people.

3- Trip reports / Casino conditions. We have a section dedicated for people to give us their feedback or a summary of their trip for others to see and follow. I usually go and look at recent trip reports before going to a casino visit to see if anything has changed, how the forum member did at the casinos. Usually the person will describe their toss and what worked / didn't work at various casinos. You can save yourself a lot of time and money by reading their experience and modifying your play before you even get there. Kind of like Trip Advisory for the casino.

4- A VIP lounge where members talk about anything and everything. They hook up for racing events, shooting competitions, rodeo events and all sorts of stuff. There is also a section for all the other games in the casino and good live experiences and betting strategies from the current members.

5- A monthly newsletter filled with good conversations around craps, good plays and betting strategies from the experts and a look at what is going on in the world of craps.

6- Law & Order. No this is not a cult or a dictatorship however there are rules for being a forum member and frankly the rules and terms of service are no different then a golf club or a tennis league. Simply put, be nice and play nice. There are discussions and conversations about various topics and not everyone agrees with one another but conversations are going on in a civil and social matter. No name calling, cursing or free for all. You will not be ostracized for thinking differently or bringing new ideas to the table as long as you remain civil about it.

Before joining this forum years ago, I heard all kinds of things from other unmoderated forums about HEAVY and the kind of people on here but I wanted to see that for myself. I joined and met several members and realized that it was all a bunch of nonsense. But, don’t take my word for it. Come on in and see for yourself.

I knew it was a good place when I first checked it out. There was a guy named Irish who had a picture of a middle finger looking right at me and quotes from the Cabaret Voltaire, a dada establishment formed by artists who saw the madness of the world as exemplified by the first world war. If Groucho had been around..well that's another marx. Time flies like crazy..fruit flies like a banana. Anyway..there is no other place for people who indulge in craps to go, really. Masses of free info, generous people willing to help you make a buck. Had one of the supreme great times of my life with Heavy and Howard in Biloxi..and the other people I met. Just wanted to add a bit to Gargoil who says it all.

The most important thing is to participate. Most members are always willing to assist with a response to the most basic question even if the response is to refer you to the forum archives. We're all here to learn and/or share the passion we have for the game. Since I've joined the forum I have grown not only as a precision shooter, but as a gambler as well. I think there is always room for growth in all of us.

When I joined this forum five years ago I expected to pick up some tips on how to play a “smarter game of craps” and to learn about what DIing was all about.

What I never in a million years expected was to meet such a great bunch of guys and gals on this forum and actually hook-up and play with these fine people. After my initial meeting with $nakeEye$ and the Jersey crew the rest was history.

Do we win every time out……….absolutely not! But we do have our moments, like this past weekend when 3 of us plus a group of DI’s from Maryland got together in AC. Our table turned white hot and we had a blast!

So newbie’s don’t be bashful, reach out to likeminded people on the forum and hit the tables together.

. . . and, we're still hanging in here after 20 years. As I type this, I see we've had around 800 visitors on the forum in the last 2 hours. Thanks for stopping by. This incarnation of the forum has been on-line since 2009, as I recall. There are over 70,000 posts archived here. We have over 700 members, of whom around a hundred or so post with some frequency. There are thirty to forty hardcore players who are on here every week with trip reports, comments, criticism, betting strategies, etc. We laugh at each others jokes, commiserate over our losses, and generally enjoy each others "virtual" company. All in all, it's been a good place to hang out, learn a lot, and make some lifelong friends who love this great game called craps.

We charge a whopping $12 registration fee to join the forum. That $12 fee deters the spammers and flamers that haunt most public forums and FaceBook public groups. Those types won't pay a fee to get their jollies hidden behind the mask of fake names and computer screens. By initiating the registration fee - it requires them to reveal themselves through PayPal, and that's something they won't do. They don't want you to know who they are, where they live, what their real email address is, and how to "out" them as the slime-balls they are. It also helps us filter out the spam-bot registrations, since spam-bots don't have PayPal accounts. We get around 2000 attempted spam-bot registrations a week that are caught by our spam filtering software. Still, a few slip through. But without that fee payment - no dice. So don't begrudge us that registration fee. It goes toward keeping the forum on-line, paying hosting fees and the occasional IT contractor costs for software upgrades and emergency outages. Plus, when you register I kick you a couple of my eBooks to soften the blow of the cost as a bonus. Now, if you're feeling generous sometime, there is a "toke box" on the forum as well, where you can kick in a few bucks any time you feel like buying me a beer, a bottle of single malt, or a good cigar or two. :D

Reminder, this forum is the ONLY place where you can download the latest version of BoneTracker for free. The original version of BoneTracker is open source and available to the general public. The new (updated) version of BoneTracker is only available to members of the forum and is on it's on sub-forum in the members-only portion of the forum, which is "hidden" unless you are logged in as a member.

Thanks for reading this if you're just visiting the forum. Come back, register, and hang out a while. You'll find more great information in those 70,000 archived posts than you'll find in most craps books down at the local book store.
