Re: many numbers or just the number you want
Amish, "Inside" are the four inside numbers (5,6,8,9) and across are all the numbers (4,5,6,8,9,10). You might want to take a quick refresher by reading the Glossary: Maddog's Glossary of DI Terms $44 "Inside" is" $10 on the five, $12 on the six, $12 on the eight, and $10 on...

If you have the Kindle... Use the FREE Kindle Cloud reader. I routinely read a given Kindle book on my Phone, on my Kindle Fire, and on the Cloud Reader, depending on where I am at the time. The devices synchronize so when I change device, it automagically updates to the most recent page read.

Re: Do you change Dice Sets to accomodate other players' bet
I've been known to say about shooting, "Anything I'm thinking about that isn't about my toss, is something I'm thinking about that is keeping me from focusing on my toss". The only times that I have really gotten into the "zone" is when I shut out the table and ignore everything ...

Re: Running BoneTracker on Microsoft Excel 2011 for Mac
I'm not an expert on the Mac, but from what I researched I think that the ActiveX controls are not supported on the Mac. So this means that the Data Entry Assistant and some of the buttons will not function under the Mac OS, even if some of the macros can. The rest of BT should work fine but it does...

Re: What happened to regression strategies?
yeah.. A Come-Out roll to set a point (or win/lose on naturals). A Point roll to decide the point. So I think the term CrapsForever was looking for was "First Point-Cycle Roll". And when you toss a 7 on the "first point-cycle roll", we also call that a PSO (point / seven-out). I'...

Re: Comparative Strategy Analysis
And, again, what I was getting at in my previous post was that as you code your model, leave room for the ability to control the probability of certain numbers. Just like what you did with the seven. That way you will have a model robust enough to handle both a random game AND a DI's pattern of infl...

Re: Comparative Strategy Analysis
You have skirted my point: But what if the probability of rolling a 5 before a seven is not 4/10? Is the HA still -4.00%? Can it be more? Can it be less? How many extra fives does it take before a Place 5 becomes a low (or positive) edge bet? If a shooter is altering the probabilities, then all the ...

Re: Comparative Strategy Analysis
...if you're wearing the "edge is important" hat, bet the four and ten for $25 each instead of $44 inside and omit the 5 and 9 on the initial 204 across adding that to the even numbers, and if you insist on betting the 5 and 9 on the $204 leg saying the edge isn't as important as the cons...

Re: Dice Tool Plus ?
Nune, I'll give an explanation below, but why make this so difficult. It does not need to be. What number, or group of numbers do you toss the most? Answer that and then build betting that covers those numbers with either a flat bet, a regression, and/or a progression as your bankroll and temperame...

DiceTool provides a model, an approximation based on your tracked foundation frequencies . Use it...

Nune, I think if you read the labels carefully you will see the difference in what the two numbers represent, and answer your own question.

Re: "Between a rock and a hardway"
If you are tracking an ability to repeat hardways without a seven or a softy in between, then you can always experiment with a $1 hardway and track how often you complete the parley to $100. Once you prove to yourself that you complete it often enough, you can up the starting amount. When you buy in...

Re: The Kelly Criterion Revisited
Another good post Heavy! In your example you use a 20% "advantage" derived by tracking. Could you direct us to where this "advantage" number is displayed in BoneTracker? “Advantage” in this context applies to the notion of betting. Advantage means that given an initial bet of “Z...

Re: The Pit Critter Knows . . .
I agree with eastcoast. I think it must be all about ATTITUDE. Does the player come to the table with a chip on his/her shoulder, looking for the most slightest of perceived offenses or mistakes just so they can go on a rant. Does their buy-in match their bets. Do they have a hang-dog look, a slump ...

Re: If you had 100% on axis, how would you bet?
realtime, Basically "Average Hand Length", "SRR", and "Median" are used synonymously. Each has a slightly different specific meaning, but in layman's terms at the craps table they are all close enough to be equivalent. When we talk about Median (or more correctly the Me...

Re: If you had 100% on axis, how would you bet?
...Don't you think though, that our tendancy to repeat things...Our consistancy to do the same thing, may move in some way to the off axis results, giving in a small way a sort of influence, even though that is not exactly what we are trying to achive?... Yes, absolutely. Influence of on-axis resul...
