Re: Heavy's Heat Seeking Craps Strategy

Think of the Heat Seeker as something to do OTHER than the "Five Count" when you want to keep in the game without raising eyebrows. I mention this in all seriousness as word is circulating about people being 86'd from the table for standing there and not betting (Five Counters). The Heat S...

Re: Basic Don't

Well, I guess I'll weigh in here on a couple of points. Bankroll and volatility. There was a time when I preached against laying odds on the Don't. My strategy was fairly simple. First bet $15 DP. Second bet $10 DC. The second bet is hedged by the first bet. Once established you have $25 Don't actio...

Irish is off with the family on vacation for a couple of weeks. Regarding his avatar - it's a great likeness and it does reflect Irish's attitude toward the rest of the world - but in particular those who would try to baffle us with bullshit.

The Quest for Old-Timers (and Newbies)

Back in the day we had over 1000 members on the old Axis Power Craps forum. When we implemented a membership fee that number dropped to around 300 and over the next few years gradually inched back up to 400 or so. We "lost" a lot of those folks when the ProBoards site was shut down. We pic...

Re: ALL, Small & Tall

Well, Golfer. A couple of years ago in Vegas I rolled the ALL twice in one hand. Three all 12 numbers before making my second or third pass - I forget which. Then tossed a come-out seven that brought them all down. Then rolled all 12 a second time before finally sevening out. Now, guess how much mon...

Avatars

By now you have probably figured out that you can utilize a personal avatar on the site. I thought I'd have a quick word with you about that. An avatar is generally a cartoon representative of your character or persona. For years I used the "Texas, So BIG!" postcard for my avatar. Shootita...

Re: Blackjack - The game most craps players love to hate

Okay, in that last post I covered the basics of blackjack play. Now let's talk about basic strategy and card counting. And I guess the first thing we should do is come up with some sort of a Basic Strategy Card to tell us what to do when until we get it more or less committed to memory. edit: Tinipi...

Blackjack - The game most craps players love to hate

Yeah, a provocative subject title. So let me first cull out the craps randies and the blackjack ploppies (please note that unlike the famous gaming author, I utilize the proper term for the non-advantage player at each game - you cannot "plop" at the craps table because there is no stool o...

Re: SLOTS

Years ago I used to swing by the hosts desk at my local joint and pick up the list of slots that had jackpotted in the last 24 hours. I'd take that info and enter it into a spreadsheet I kept on my laptop. I was looking for trends as to when certain progressives tended to pop and to identify whether...

Re: The Doey-Don't and the Patrick System

I've maintained for years that shooting from the Don'ts and playing at off-hours when the tables are relatively empty is the bottom-line best way to capitalize on any influence you have over the dice. Why not have the power of the seven working for you instead of against you? You never have to worry...

Pai Gow Poker - One of the best games for casual players!

First I'll tell you the story of Pai Gow Poker and how it came to be. Asian players will say it originated in the Far East - and indeed the Chinese version of the game - played with Pai Gow tiles (dominos) did originate in Asia. But the Americanized version - played with cards instead of tiles - was...

Here we go again - Rules of the Road

Welcome to the new Axis Power Craps forum. We're back sans some of the issues we had with the old board. But, of course, the new board comes with issues of its own. We'll get the bugs worked out in due time. Meanwhile, I thought I'd revisit some of the rules of the road for you old-timers and lay th...

Yeah, you've discovered one of the bugs I haven't ironed out of the new forum yet - it doesn't recognize the table format in BB. I haven't tried it in html but I suspect that won't work either. Patience my friend. We'll figure it out eventually.
