SWITCHING TO THE DONTS

Setting and influencing the dice roll is just part of the picture. To beat the dice you have to know how to bet the dice. Whether you call it a "system," a "strategy," or just a way to play - this is the place to discuss it.

Heavy's latest newsletter outlined some great options when playing the Donts

Most players are right side bettors;Question-what triggers do you use to switch to the Donts?

Even though sometimes I wish I would have, I don't switch mid session.

When I used to go the the casinos anytime I wanted I would play the Donts often. I had great luck using the Patrick System.

Hmmm. When I switch it's not really logical. I'll change whenever the shooters bust my initial bets out 4x in a row without me breaking even once.

I'll switch off the Don't back to the PL and Place bets when a shooter hits a single place number 3x AND makes the Point, or I lose two full hands (having set three Don't bets [and their odds after the 3rd bet]).

My old trigger used to be if I lost on three consecutive shooters. It was either switch to the Don'ts or end the session. These days I look for reasons to switch sooner. I watch trends closer - are the sevens expanding or contracting - how did this NEXT shooter do last time? And after any really good hand, I'll almost always switch to the Don'ts on the next hand. Last session I played, five shooters in a row set the 9 as the point and all five of them sevened out without making it. There's an indicator for you. If the shooter before you sevened out without making a number - hop it and play the DP at the same time. Then consider Laying Odds? Maybe. You just never know at this game.

I track the last 20 point outcomes. If <8 points have hit, I play PL full odds. If >=8, then DP full odds. The only exception is I follow streaks until they end. If 3 PLs or 4 DPs points in a row have hit, I’ll ride until the streak ends then resume the original strategy.
