Lay Bet on a Crapless Table
Hollywood Casino - Lawrenceburg, IN
Within the last several days Hollywood converted 1 of it's 4 tables to Crapless. I tend to stay away from Crapless as a large part of my play is laying the 4/10 and placing the 6/8 or $22 inside if it's a $5 table. Yes I know the "Hedge" play is not always optimal
To the point...on this layout and at this location they will allow you to Lay against any #. To Lay the 2/12 it is $120 ($1 vig) to win $20. To Lay against the 3/11 it is $60 ($1 vig) to win $20.
So last night I'm milling around the table just watching and waiting on the wife to finish some free slot play. The table is pretty cold and the 7's are coming from everywhere. This table has only 3 players and only 2 are shooting (total random toss). One guy is on his 2nd buy-in of $1K as he is a $25 chip player on every number with a full press on every hit. He is just getting smoked...
I'm watching and thinking, "In the last 20-30 rolls I've seen 2 "12's" and 1 "2". It's now or just walk away. Mind you I have been chatting with the crew about the whole lay bet thing...RISK vs REWARD!
I drop $100 bill and 1 green chip on the layout. "Please lay the 2 for $120". Shooter is at the other end of the table. He tosses maybe 6-8 times and 7's out. I drop a $1 and come down.

Re: Lay Bet on a Crapless Table
I lay against the point often. On cold tables, I would rather pay the Vig, then deal with the 7 and 11 on the come out.
If I was going to do this, I am probably laying both the 2 and 12. Three seven outs before either of these numbers, and you cover one loss(assuming you take down the other after the loss). You can probably run off a pretty good win streak at times.

What are they nuts over there? That is a good bet! I don't think they'll keep that long.
Re: Lay Bet on a Crapless Table
Or, take your $125 and lay the 3 and 11 for $60 each.
Re: Lay Bet on a Crapless Table
I had been told, at another property close by, it's not allowed by the Indiana Gaming Commission.
Not so sure.
Apparently I was the first person to make the Lay bet.

I'm not sure if its the gaming commission or the casino itself that makes these rules up. I've been told by some casinos you can do it and some that you can't. Typically, if I'm playing crapless I'm playing to hit the extreme out so I don't sweat it.

Re: Lay Bet on a Crapless Table
I have always believed it was just the casino itself. Their house...Their game...Their rules!
As a side note (non craps related) the state of Indiana is now allowing wagering...SPORTSBOOK.
I might have to tip a toe in at some point.

Actually, it all begins with the state gaming commission. They define the broad rules of what games and wagers are permitted to all casinos in their state. It's then up to the individual casinos to pick and choose which of the allowable games and game rules they want to adopt.

This would be a very interesting development(i.e., crapless lays in Indiana). Ive sent out intel requests for two Indiana gamers--Ill report back if I get a prompt response.

Re: Lay Bet on a Crapless Table
Just found this thread. My local casino says no dark side play of any kind - including Lay bets - is allowed on their Crapless table.
Frankly, I’m jealous that there are casinos out there that do allow it.

They are more the exception rather than the norm.chuckindice wrote: ↑Sat Jan 01, 2022 10:07 am Just found this thread. My local casino says no dark side play of any kind - including Lay bets - is allowed on their Crapless table.

Re: Lay Bet on a Crapless Table
So far the only crapless game in town here in Vegas that I'm aware of that allows lays is at the Strat. Table max is $5k, but if you're a known player, they will bump it up.
Feel free to add other places here, as wish I could find a similar situation in Biloxi, LOL, DN8R

DN, there is a Crapless now at Sahara. It has never been open when I am there. Only weekends I guess. Not sure what rules are attached but you might want to check it if you are interested.

When I consider the opportunities crapless gives the skilled shooter, I wonder why these threads exist. Let's bet basketball, shall we?

Re: Lay Bet on a Crapless Table
More often than not, my local Crapless table is full while the regular table is not. Yesterday, people were crowded around the Crapless table and there was 2 people on the regular table. These folks are regulars, and I know they are not dice setters. And many of them are betting big on the Horn numbers on a wing and a prayer.House of Orange wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 8:34 pm When I consider the opportunities crapless gives the skilled shooter, I wonder why these threads exist. I do agree that the more I get comfortable with dice setting, the more I'm excited to figure out what dice set is most likely to roll more Horns. Looking forward to completing my first real book of 720 rolls (I kept changing things and starting over after several 100 rolls) and hitting the Crapless table with better knowledge about which sets give me an edge at rolling the Horns.

That’s the right road, get a stabilized toss and then start investigating horn sets in your Coaster Group. Note, not all horn sets are created equal as you’ll see a 2s rich set is not usually a 12s rich set. So, that’s 2 sets you’ll see to validate. I kinda narrowed my power horn sets to a 2/3 rich set and a 11/12 rich set. I like 11/12 for come outs. Data is power, practice like every toss is for the All, good luck, DN8R
