As most of us know, KISS stands for Keep It Simple Stupid.

As I do with everything else in my life, I've applied some simplicity to my craps game.

Here's how it breaks down:

DP starting out with one unit, then doubling up on the loss (Martingale). However, I stop at the third double, and reset to one unit (usually after a win).

(I have been doubling up 3x regardless of a win or loss online, so I might apply that later in real life).

I have found that I've only hit 3x a handful of times, mostly hitting winning streaks with choppy shooters.

This is a slight variation of what I was playing (DP/DC with mixing in the Field occasionally), and I applied it tonight.

Living in Vegas affords me plenty of options, but to test new (to me) strategies and/or shake off some ring rust, I'll usually go to Palace Station for their $3 craps.

(My son was born on Father's Day nine weeks early, and spent his first seven weeks in the hospital, so I took a break to deal with that. No worries, he's a healthy and happy boy!)

Tonight I hit up Palace with a bankroll of about 56x the table minimum. I dipped my toe into the water for a few rounds to see how the table was. Once I hit the 7-out a few times, I started rolling out my strategy.

Side note: even the dice setters weren't doing that well because they (IMHO) weren't showing good dice control.

A big part of my playing deals with not staying at the table for long...I like to average about 30-35 minutes per table. That works for me since my son has his eye appointment later this morning.

Anyways, I came out ahead...not much, but I like to leave with more than I started with LOL. It wasn't the usual amount that I do with BJ (double my bankroll), but I was happy.

More importantly, it gave me my confidence back, so now I feel more comfortable in moving back up to the $5/10 tables.

Hopefully I can keep it up!

Actually, the simple strategies are the ones that work the best IMHO. It's much easier to win utilizing a single bet than it is having money spread all over the table. Risking $25 to win $25 makes more sense than . . . say risking $22 inside to win $7.

Glad to hear the kiddo is doing great. Keep posting. In particular, we enjoy hearing how the Vegas dice setters are doing AND what the table conditions are like. Palace Station used to be one of my favorite places to play, but they've changed their tables out and the casino floor seems too cramped these days for a big and tall guy like me.

LOL I know the feeling...although I've noticed lately that they've moved the lights up it seems, so it's not as crowded.

I was going to go to Main Street, but iHeart Radio Festival was going on closeby, so I wanted to avoid that whole area. Plus the dealership that I needed to go to was down the street from Palace.

Regarding the dice setters, the thing that I've noticed is that those that have the same basic throwing motion are the ones that I really struggle with. The best way to describe it is that they start down low near the table, then throw it in an upswing motion.

Conversely, I'll just barely pick the dice up and throw it in an upward arc. I try not to show that I'm setting the dice, because I feel that people will eventually figure out that I'm trying to roll a seven LOL.

Kiddo is still doing great, I'm looking forward to teaching him the basics of craps someday!
