But it's the same thing isn't it regardless of amount? Lay 20 to win 10 or bet 5 to win 10 as another example. One side is always the inverse of the other.

Though of course there is the "risking more" element. in the trying to make $50 example, it's not great if you are buying in for $300 and then risking $100 to win $50 on the 4 or 10 lay. Whereas $25 to win $50 betting the 4 or 10 seems more logical relative to buy in size.

But both are zero sum games. You'll make (and lose) your $50 either via Win/Lose/Win or Lose/Win/Lose. 66.67% chance to win against 33.34% chance to win.

Maybe the not laying of odds for a don't player is more of a mindset/bankroll/money management issue? There is no real logic why dont's players are less likely to get involved in odds, whilst right siders almost fall over themselves to get involved in odds.

It may be that Rightsiders are looking for the Huuuuge win and the Darksider is just trying to squeeze out a minimal win.

Laying odds on the 6 and 8 minimally, 5 and 9 get more as do the 4 and 10. Not waiting past 4 rolls for a seven, however.

You're pulling your established don't bets? Why?

Always nice to "bump" a Dylanfreake thread. As far as laying odds - on a $10 game I frequently lay $12 odds on the six and eight. It's amazing how many times I win that bet. Not really scared of it. If the hand gets long in the tooth I may take the odds down. If it gets too long I may place the six and eight over the Don't bet to guarantee a push or a win, but that's usually a last resort for me. When I commit to playing the dark side I'm usually all in on it. Sometimes it bites me on the ass, but it is what it is.

Re: pulling established don't bets. Here's why I do it and one size doesn't fit all. It's just me. I make a don't bet on other shooters when there is a decrease in length of rolls because sevens are coming early. It's a charting process. So I give the shooter four rolls to bring the seven or knock me off.
I will also switch the money to the right side on a signature number as the roll goes on. No harm, no foul as they say.

Greeting thnick,

I can see you taking your money down on a [ 6 or 8 ] but not on a [ 5 or 9 or 4 or 10 ] thats where you are going to make your money when you bet the Dont's. Think twice before you do it.
Luck for all.

I played at the Southern Indiana Horseshoe in late Dec during a comped two night stay. The action at the table seemed to favor the Dark Side, so I played DP, DC and a Lay Bet on an outside number. Plenty of random tossers during that session, but one in particular shot the hell out of my bets. I didn't get Lady Luck's memo. Hey! It happens.

Three targets (don'ts) is a bit risky for me. I'll do it, but I like working up to it with two don'ts until I have a few wins in the rail, DN8R

Hell, I've pushed continuous DC bets out until I've had all the numbers covered with Lay Odds and then the Seven showed up right on time without any numbers getting knocked off. I call that a Home Run.
