UFC Fight Night: Stand and Bang Ladies Parlay

Believe it or not, craps is not the only game in the casino. Savvy players have a back-up plan for when their craps game is off. If Heavy isn't winning at Craps you're likely to find him playing Baccarat, Blackjack, or even Roulette. If the table games aren't working out he may even take a cigar break in the high limit slot area for a little hit-and-run action. But just like craps - you have to plan your play and play your plan. If you have a question on slots, video poker, carnival games or any table games other than craps, this is the place to post. Let's hear about the games you play when you're not playing craps! What's your game? What's your strategy? How's that working out for you? Inquiring minds want to know!

UFC Fight Night: Stand and Bang Ladies Parlay

Post by Banker_Bro » Sat Oct 03, 2020 7:50 am

The UFC has consistently put up very good fight cards during this weird pandemic year. They returned to Fight Island last week where we saw Jan "Polish Power" Blachowicz win the light heavy belt with a second round KO/TKO over Domminick Reyes. The UFC will be throwing down excellent cards every Saturday night in October. Tonight is no exception. The main event will be Holly Holms vs. Irene Aldana. Let's take a peek at all three of the ladies fights on the card.

First Up will be Loma Lookboonmee fighting Jinh Yu Frey in the women's strawweight division.
Lookboonmee is a 5' 1" fighter out of Phuket Thailand with a strong Muay Thai base, the national sport of Thailand. Coming in with a 4-2 record, she will face an experienced fighter in Frey (9-5) who fights out of Arlington, Texas. The former Invicta champ had a tough go of it in her last fight losing to a very young Kay Hansen by submission. Lookboonmee lost to ranked fighter, Angel Hill in her last bout. Both of these ladies will stand and bang. It should go the full distance of three rounds. The edge goes to Lookboonmee with her Muay Thai power.

Germaine De Randamie (9-4) versus Juliana Pena (10-3). De Randamie is from the Netherlands and fights out of San Jose, CA. She is a fierce striker. Pena fights out of Spokane, WA and is a Brazilain Jui Jitsu specialist. If she can get De Randamie to the canvass for some ground and pound, it could be a successful outing for her. De Randamie (36) last fought champ Amanda Nunez in a title bout, but lost by decision. Pena won over Nicco Montano in her last fight. De Randamie is ranked #1 and Pena is ranked #4. Both love to stand and bang. If Pena (31) can orchestrate her fight-plan she has the edge

In the main event it will be Holly Holm (13-5) against Irene Aldana (12-5). These ladies will definitely Stand and Bang. It could be the fight of the night.
Holm is a former UFC champ having had the strap wrapped around her in one of the most amazing upsets in UFC history over Rhonda Rousey. Holm is also a former WBC boxing champ. Like Holm, Pena comes in with pure boxing prowess. Both ladies have knock-out power. Holm is the older fighter at 38 while Pena comes in at her athletic peak at 32 years old. This should be a fantastic fight. Aldana in a slight upset.

The Parlay:
Loma Lookboonmee (-140) / Juliana Pena (+125) / Irene Aldana (+100)
Bet the minimum, of course. With all legs winning enjoy a nice Pizza as the parlay calculator comes in at 33.57usd.
Odds are from Circa as of this writing. They have a tendency to change quickly as we get closer to fight time. Watch the board.
ESPN+ will have the preliminary fights and ESPN will have the main card. Enjoy.

Aldana is one of my favorite female MMA fighters. I've followed her career for years. Rose Namajunas, not featured on this card, is another little badass. Google both of their videos for some great classic fights.

While Aldena is not a great technical fighter, she never backs down. She reminds me of Joe Frazier and the way he used to cut down the ring on his opponents. She just keeps coming at you no matter how hard you hit her. And like Thug Rose, if you give her your back she's going to be on it with a rear naked choke hold and you're going to tap. Here's a video of her 2020 highlights:

No man, crack open a cold one. Have your sweetie by your side and enjoy the fights.
When they are over, repair to your favorite room and engage in some grappling yourselves. Nudge, Nudge. Wink, wink.

Heavy, I'm with you on this one.

Namajunas is coming off a fierce split decision victory over Jessica Andrade. They both took some significant punishment. After some healing and training, "Thug" Rose (ranked #1) should get another shot against champ Weili Zhang of China. Probably next year (2021).

The strawweight division is packed with great fighting talent including one of my favorites, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, who Namajunas has beaten twice.

As to Irene Aldana, she just couldn't get into the pocket last night against Holm. Learning experience for her, I hope. Holm deployed a successful strategy of keeping Aldana at bay with her front and side kicks. She definitely feared Aldana's severe left hook. Was an ok fight.

My hope is that they schedule the Rose-Weili fight in Las Vegas and allow those two badasses to make some serious money.

Sorry, jamie, I missed your post earlier. I was off the forum working on getting the newsletter out, then turned it off for 24 hours of down time. Looks like Holm won, which was not unexpected. I like the fact that Aldana isn't afraid to come straight at her opponent and cut off the ring, but she still needs to lean how to stick and fall back or - as Banker Bro noted - how to fight in the pocket. She doesn't seem to get "hit and circle" or "hit and run." She's strictuly "hit and two steps forward." Do that all the time and you're going to walk into a lot of punches. Especially against someone with a strong hook.

UFC Fight Night on Fight Island 5. Abu Dhabi, UAE.

This Saturday (10/10) we go with Big Boys for our parlay. All the heavies should put on good fights this week.

First up will be Chris Dauskaus (31) fighting out of Philadelphia will bring his significant strike capability to the octagon against Rodrigo Nascimiento (31) of Brazil. Nascimiento is a submission expert. It will be a fight of extreme contrasts. Dauskaus will try for the KO and Nascimiento will hunt for the submission.
Edge to Dauskaus, but he has to get punching quickly.

The second meeting of the Heavies will be Tom Aspinall (27) against Alan Baudot (32). Both fighters are in their prime. It could be the fight of the night as both of these guys are KO aficionados. Aspinall (5-2) fighting out of England last fought to a 41 second KO. Baudot (8-1) of France, fighting out of Japan has ended most of his fights in knock out fashion. This will be a battle.
Edge to Aspinall.

The expected co-main event will feature Ben Rothwell (38) fighting out of Milwaukee, WI opposing Marcin Tybura (31) fighting out of Poland. These two are seasoned professionals with adequate punching power. Rothwell (38-12) has a good deal of his latest fights go to decision. Tybura (19-6) has let his last two fights go to unanimous decision. These two big boys are likely to go the distance.
Edge to Tybura.

The Parlay:
Daukaus (+230) / Aspinall (-550) / Tybura (+125)
These are Caesars moneylines. Parlay calculator shows we could be in for pizza if all strike paydirt for 19.50usd.
Enjoy the fights.

Saturday October 17, 2020 Back on Fight Island.

Last weeks parlay came in at 43.89usd for some pizza plus. This week we look at a couple of ladies fights plus a light heavyweight fight on the main card. Should be fun.

First up. Gillain Robertson (25) of Canada vs. Poliana Bothello (31) of Brazil. Bothello is the taller, longer striker (8-2) who will have to battle a strong BJJ fighter in Robertson (8-4). Both are coming in off of wins. This will be a close one. Slight edge to Bothello.

Second fight will feature Jim Crute (24) of Australia versus Modestas Bukauskas (29) of Lithuania. Crute (11-1) is a submission expert though he does have a couple of KO/TKO's to his credit. Bukauskas (11-2) is a beast that loves to punch out his opponents. This one could be the fight of the night. Got to go with the Lithuanian, Buskauskas, in this one.

Third fight of our parlay will be a stand and bang event with Kaitlyn Chookagian (31) of the USA versus Jessica Andrade (29) of Brazil. Chookagian (14-3) comes off a win and Andrade (20-8) comes off a loss to one of Heavy's favorites, Rose Namujunas (see video in this thread above). Both women looked like they got smashed by box cars in that fight. This will be a battle royale. Edge goes to Chookagian as the taller, longer fighter.

The Parlay: Bothello (+180) / Bukauskas (+260) / Chookagian (+135) should bring in enough dough for a delicious lunch at the Mesa Grill in Caesars Palace at 118.44usd according to our parlay calculator. Of course betting the LAS minimum.

Have a very enjoyable Fight Night. :D

Got smoked last week on the parlay play as all three of my picks were defeated. Felt like an armbar.

UFC 254:

Another good card that starts early today (2 PM PT). There should be some impressive fights, particularly the main event.

Let's start off with Liana Jojua (25) of Georgia versus Miranda Maverick (23) of the USA. Jojua (8-3) is a submission specialist facing off against another submission expert in Maverick (9-2). Should be a good fight with the edge to the Georgian athlete.

Lauren Murphy (37) of the USA will fight against Liliya Shakirova (29) of Uzbekistan. This should be a battle royale as both fighters are true Mixed Martial Artists. Murphy (13-4) has won her last three bouts, two by decision. Shakirova (8-1) has also won her last three, two by TKO. These ladies will stand and bang. Edge to Shakirova who is her athletic prime.

MAIN EVENT has the GOAT of the lightweight division, Khabib Nurmagomedov (32) of Russia fighting against Justin Gaehtje (31) of the USA. This could be the fight of the year. Nurmagomedov (28-0) goes at his opponent in a measured style, but when he gets him to the canvas it becomes a relentless ground and pound attack. Gaehtje (22-2) is relentless in his fearless attack. He has seemingly boundless cardio that could bring this fight the full distance. Both of these top shelf fighters have the wrestling skills to bring that sort of tussle to a draw. Have to go with the kid from Arizona mining country, Justin Gaehtje is an upset.

It will be a three dog parlay again this week, hopefully with a better outcome:

Jojua (+350) / Shakirova (+175) / Gaehtje (+280)++++parlay calculator indicates a juicy 235.14usd if they all should win.

Boy did we mess up last week. Got the start time wrong. All three fighters selected went down to defeat. Amazingly, at UFC 254 favorites went 10-1-1 split draw. Since the start of the pandemic favorites are winning at a 66% clip. Additionally, 50% of the fights are going the distance to decision.

The UFC returns to the Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada for this weeks fight night. Prelims are expected to start at 4pm Eastern Time. Looks like another good card.

Nothing unusual for this weeks parlay. We will focus on the middle-weight fights.

First Up. Sean Sticland (29) against Jack Marshman (30). Strickland (20-3) comes back after last fighting for a win two years ago. Marshman (23-9) missed weight for this fight and will have to forfeit some of his purse-money due to the infraction. Should be a stand and bang event. Both have power punches. Edge to Strickland as the favorite.

Second Fight. Kevin Holland (27) versus Charlie Ontiveros (29) could be the fight of the night despite the wide variance in the moneylines. Holland is rising star entering his peak fighting years coming off three wins in a row. He fights out of Ft. Worth, TX holding a 19-5 record. Ontiveros (11-6) makes his UFC debut. He fights out of Cleveland, TX with a two win streak. This will be a battle of the Texans with pure punch power. Have to go with Holland in this one as the more experienced UFC fighter.

Third Fight for the parlay will be the Main Event featuring Uriah Hall (36) fighting Anderson Silva (45). Hall of Jamaica is fighting out of New York comes in with a two win streak and a 16-9 record. Silva, a muy thai export comes in off two losses. He is a recognized figure in the UFC from Brazil. On any given day of the week, old age and treachery will overcome youth and vigor almost every time. Not in the fight game. Edge goes to Hall.

The parlay: Strickland (-330) / Holland (-800) / Hall (-225). Moneylines courtesy of Circa. Again, nothing unexpected here. The parlay calculator indicates we might be able to get a Coke and smile for a cash of 10.59usd on the minimum LAS wager.

Best to all. Enjoy the fights.

Is this on ESPN Plus on cable or is it pay per view? I can never seem to find these fights live on my cable channels.

Heavy:
Sorry for the late reply.
All the prelims are on ESPN plus. Certain main cards are on ESPN plus as well. (Like last nights fights).
Those that have the marquee names and a number after them (ie: UFC 255--upcoming) usually are ppv for the main card. And they are not cheap.

Many of the pre-pre-lim and pre-lim fights are just as exciting as the pay per view (ppv).

Interesting note, last night the favs went 10-1 again with only two going to decision. A huge number of TKO.KO's. Great action, though.
Stay safe and avoid any submissions.
Cheers.

UFC Vegas 14

Another good card has been cobbled together by the UFC as we get to look at three fights in the ladies strawweight division. Prelims are projected to start at 4pm ET.

Ashley Yoder (33) will face Miranda Granger (28) as both come off losses of their previous fight. Both are fairly tall for this division at 5'7". Additionally both have a Jui Jitsu fighting foundation which should make this one fascinating if they go to the ground. Yoder (7-6) fights out of California and Granger (7-1) fights out of Washington. This will be a close one. Advantage, Granger.

Randa Markos (35) of Canada will face Kanako Murata (27) of Japan. Markos (10-1-1) has a Jiu Jitsu foundation and Murata (11-1) comes in with a wrestling expertise. Markos will attempt to break a two fight skid and Murata will gear up to gain eight wins in a row in her UFC debut. Have to go with the more experienced fighter in Markos. Will be a great fight though.

One of the featured bouts on the Main card will showcase two young fighters in Cory McKenna (21) and Kay Hansen (21). McKenna (5-1) is a well rounded MMA fighter who hales from Wales, United Kingdom. Hansen (7-3) is a submission specialist from the USA. Both are on winning streaks, three for McKenna and four for Hansen. Could be one of the best fights of the night. Very minor edge to Hansen.

Stand and Bang Ladies parlay for Saturday (11.14.2020) Granger (-110) / Markos (+175) / Hansen (-210). Parlay calculator says we might be in for a nice brunch at Lorena Garcia's Chica in the Venetian if we cash at 38.76usd wagering the LAS minimum.

Here's to a great fight night. May your tickets cash!!!

Last Saturday all of the ladies in the parlay lost.

Tonight promises to be another exciting fight night with UFC 255 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
The flyweight ladies will Stand and Bang. Early prelims start at 6:30 pm EST on ESPN / ESPN+. PPV for the Main Card at 10pm EST.

Antonina Shevchenko (36) of Kyrgyzstan will face off against Brazil's Ariane Lipski (26). Both are strikers and this should be a heck of a bout. Shevchenko (8-2) is the older sister of champ Valentina would love to bring home a win, but she has to get through Lipski (13-5) who is a fierce Muy Thai fighter that allows no quarter. Expect this one to be violent. Edge to Lipski as the underdog.

Katlyn Chookagian (31) will fight Cynthia Calvillo (33) in the first main card ladies fight. Both are USA based. This is a great match-up that will challenge both. Calvillo (9-1-1) will try to get this to the ground. Chookagian (14-4) will attempt to keep her at a distance as the longer, taller fighter. Calvillo has been impressive in her recent bouts and might have the edge.

Valentian Shevchenko (32) of Kyrgyzstan is the overwhelming favorite at -1000 in the co-main event. Deservedly so, she is the undisputed champ in this division with pure knock-out power. Jennifer Maia (32) faces her and will need to get this to the ground to have any chance. Maia (17-6-1) fights out of Brazil. Shevchenko (19-3) should take this one.

Ladies Stand and Bang Parlay: Ariane Lipski (+130) / Cynthia Calvillo (-260) / Valentina Shevchenko by TKO/KO (-125) for value.
Parlay calculator on the LAS minimum wager says we should make bring us a payout at 28.66usd for a nice lunch at the Vig in the M Resort.

May all your tickets cash this week!
