Baccarat

Believe it or not, craps is not the only game in the casino. Savvy players have a back-up plan for when their craps game is off. If Heavy isn't winning at Craps you're likely to find him playing Baccarat, Blackjack, or even Roulette. If the table games aren't working out he may even take a cigar break in the high limit slot area for a little hit-and-run action. But just like craps - you have to plan your play and play your plan. If you have a question on slots, video poker, carnival games or any table games other than craps, this is the place to post. Let's hear about the games you play when you're not playing craps! What's your game? What's your strategy? How's that working out for you? Inquiring minds want to know!

Baccarat Battle Plan is in its final stage of development. I have a road trip coming up this month and will be doing some travking/playing along the way. My co-creator of the strategy got himself banned from Bac in one of the Indiana casinos while testing /playing last month. Their "excuse" for banning him? They unofficially told him he was too good for them. But they banned him for...get this...writing down the decisions. Hello. The casino provides the tracking shots and pencils. Laughable.

You have GOT to be kidding! Banned for charting with THEIR scoring results sheets??? That IS totally laughable  and insulting IMHO!

You guys should come to Manila where things are laid back. Unless you are blatantly cheating, disruptive, begging, caught lifting others chips or sound asleep at the table, you will not be banned or asked to leave. Over the years, I have seen MANY people win tens of thousands of $$$$$ at the baccarat tables while charting. Nobody says a word but, "thank you for playing", when they color up and leave the table.

Thumbs up on your Baccarat Battle Plan!

Heavy, did you ever post the "Baccarat Battle Plan"? I would be very interested to read that one as I am sure Bones would be too.

I really like the casinos that have computer terminals where you can watch 2-3 tables of Bac at the same time and look for the runs. I am sure you have read some of my betting methods on the old DI board here: http://diceinstitute.mxf.yuku.com/topic ... ods?page=4

So I am again very interested in what you come up with and how you do.

Players at the Gold Coast write down every number on thick stacks of the players cards that the casino hands out. Never any problem, whatsoever.

What will be the price of the 'Baccarat Battle Plan'? I have two strategies that Jerry Patterson has created and never paid more than 250.00.

One player in particular at the Gold Coast comes in with his own clip board.

LOL. Now there's what I used to call "throwing some shit against the wall and seeing if it sticks." Seriously, though, if you're talking about one of Jerry's roulette strategies - he did not create it. Who did that stuff? Eric somebody or other? I forget. Damn, it's been sooooooooo long. Now you're going to make me go DEEP in the Heavy Archival Systems File (the dusty old file cabinet in the closet - the one with the warning signs about spiders and snakes) to check it out.

Anway, it's been a long time since Jerry sold that system for $250. Back then bread was .50 cents a loaf. Gas was $1.39 a gallon. Valet parking was free in Vegas. These days bread is $3.00 a loaf, gas is $3.60 a gallon, and it's getting difficult to SELF PARK in Vegas for free.

I haven't finalized pricing with DiceTrakkr - my partner in this little venture - yet. The other strategies we've been marketing have been priced at $295 - $395 for forum members. More like $495 - $595 to the general public. I'll be offering some deeper discounts to the people who attend the Biloxi craps seminar in March and the Vegas class in June. I'll GIVE at least one copy away to someone at the Biloxi class in exchange for a promise to actually go to the casino, do the roll tracking, and play the strategy live if they will give me a complete report back on results. But we'll sort all that out at the class itself.

Over the next few weeks I'm going to be on the road, visiting the in-laws up north. I'll be getting some play in along the way, in places like (my least favorite midwest casino) Des Moines (Prairie Enema or whatever the name of that dump is), the Pile of Debris in Waterloo, Ia., and the Harrah's property in N. Kansas City. There may be other stops along the way but those are on the books. Mostly going to play craps but I'll pack my tracking sheets and try to get a few other games in as well - including Bac and Roulette.

We were operating on a back-up database last night for a few hours while we upgraded the forum software. Any posts made during that time went to the twilight zone when we brought the upgraded database back on-line. Hate when this happens because, honestly, I had several posts disappear as well. Meanwhile, in Punjab . . . .

You guys have got me intrigued. I've downloaded a baccarat app to check it out and I like the game. Since my casino rarely has craps tables open I'll try this game out next week and try out some line bet craps strategies on baccarat.

I've just started learning baccarat as a replacement game for when craps isn't open (which is a lot in Australia)

What's with the need to ruin and destroy the cards?

What a waste of time and good cards.

Can someone explain this craziness?

I take you to mean the "squeezing" of the cards...

Intrigue, suspense, superstition and tradition I believe. I've also heard it said many, many times..."I'm getting my money's worth out of this hand."

Yeah, that's the big bac game where players get to handle the cards. Not an issue in mimi-bac.

Heavy...will your plan include the "mini" auto-shuffler games too? Side bets?

As a side note, the Philippine tables recently introduced the Egalite, zero through nine, Tie bets. They range from a 40-200 to one payoff. Seems like another version of a sucker bet but, I'm not so sure about this yet. Comments?

stratocasterman - WizardOfOdds should be your go to site for any kind of info on side bets on any casino game. They cover pretty much everything.

Thought I had heard of the egalite bet before and sure enough we have it here on bacarat in London.

You'll see from the paytables on the WOO site that you are talking a double figure house edge on most of the ties, so a huge sucker bet.

One day , maybe ten years ago , I walked through HS Tunica and back by the poker room , I spotted a "Yuuge", super large gaming table with one , Asian -looking player , mainly betting orange , purple and yellow chips. The player never changed expressions whether he won or lost, but each time he handled the cards , he would bend the "heck" out of them so that they were no longer usable.

That was the first time that I had ever seen a big baccarat table, and also the first time that I had seen a player handle the cards, and also the first time that I had seen cards destroyed by a player.

At the time HS was owned by Jack Binion. And , Yes, those were the good old days before HS was purchased by Harrahs Entertainment which became Caesars Entertainment.

At least after Harrahs purchased the HS , there were no more having to get into a long line , to get a number at 6PM on a Saturday night so that you could get back into a long line, at the time given you a couple of hours later . Back then, HS had the best buffet by far in Tunica.

Pretty much all side bets are sucker bets and should be avoided. I feel the same about shuffle master games where used cards go right back in the machine to be reshuffled continuously with the unused cards. There are card counting strategies for the hand shuffled shoe games, although I don't have plans to get too deeply into that.

The only two buffets I have had in the last couple of years have been GS and HS ,so I am not sure which casino in Tunica has the best buffet. I have never met a buffet that I did not like.

Well, I surely agree about the side bets being high vig sucker bets. I RARELY EVER bet them and I don't play the auto-shuffle tables either. The auto-shuffle game results seem to be way different than the big table game shoes in general IMO.

I suppose the question would be, if you WERE going to bet a single Tie bet here now ($1), the usual odds for that bet here is 8:1. Averaging the ten Egalite Tie bet odds comes up to 120:1. Minimum odds payoff are 40:1 and Maximum odds payoff are 200:1. If a Tie hits, why in the world would you want to bet an 8:1 bet, when you could at minimum hit a 40:1 payoff? Granted, you would have to bet ten times ($1 minimum X 10= $10) as much. Not sure how all the math works out on this but, it seems to still be a better payoff. I've even noticed players combining their bets to cover all ten bets and split the payoff appropriately.

Seems to me that bets on the 6, 7, 8 and 9 would be the best bets, in that Player must stand at any of those numbers, limiting the amount of cards dealt on a particular hand. Over my ten years at the tables, I've noticed that most Ties are dealt in four or five cards.

Yesterday, for the hell of it, I just sat and watched a 73 hand shoe with about 6 players betting, before heading over to the craps table. There were eleven Ties in that shoe. Six of them were back to back. Be it superstition or whatever, most bet all ten across after every Tie, winning three times. All eleven Tie results but one, were the 6, 7, 8 and 9 with one 5.

Thoughts?

In getting that 40/1 pay-off by placing 10 bets, you are also losing 9 bets don't forget, so your net odds are massively lower than 40/1. More like 3 to 1
