FB bet

I came across this bet on FB. I think it was on Heavy’s group. I don’t usually pay much attention to FB strategies but this one looks like it pays better than my usual horn or world bet on 2,12,and 3. You make less on 11 and 7 and the bet of course come down like a horn bet does on a 7, where a world pushes.

With a $10 pass line bet, I play a $2 Hi/Lo with a $3 any craps. A come out seven or eleven covers my modified horn bet and makes me $5. A come out two or twelve pays me $50 at the expense of losing my $10 pass line bet. A come out ace-deuce pays me $19 with the loss of my $10 pass line.

Interesting bet. Not sure his math is all correct. Thoughts on the bet?

I am assuming the hi-low is $1 on the 2 and $1 on the $12.

So you win $9, $40 and $40. If you played $5 any craps you would win $25.

So if 36 rolls played out actually how it should which is the better bet?

This way....40 + 40 + 9 + 9 = $98

$5 Any craps.....4 x $25 = $100

Playing the any craps is a slightly better bet, but that is assuming the numbers appear equally.

2 pays 60-10 pass line -3 dollars for losing craps bet -47?

$2 Hi Low and $3 Any Craps bet pays....
For a two .... $30(Low) + $21(Any Craps) -$1(Hi) -$10(Pass) = $40
For twelve...$30(High) + $21(Any Craps) -$1(Low) -$10(Pass) = $40
For 3.....$21(Any Craps) - $2(hi/low) - $10 Pass = $9

So in 36 rolls...assuming uniformity, you would roll 1-12 1-2 and 2-3's. So your winnings would be $40 +$40 +$9 +$9 = $98. Where as if you just played a $5 Any craps, you would of collected $100.

thanks for straightening me out on the 3 way. Using your uniformity formula i guess i should stick with my horn bet unless i screwed something else up in my math it would pay 128?

I always like these threads...

So let's say you're setting for Game within the Game and using you Hi-Lo set in your preferred shooting position, what is your press move after hitting a horn number? Or that Hi/Lo ?

And when you press, do you still leave the Yo naked, or convert the Any Craps to a Horn bet with a bigger total ?

Just curious as am sure there's many variations.

PS Ventura - I like your notional method, smooth

I almost always press my horn on a comeout hit. Occasionally if i just had a horn and not a horn high ace deuce and a 3 rolls i will just collect and let it ride. If i get a second hit, especially 2s or 12s i will go up a couple of units. Sometimes i move it to a world after two hits because sometimes a 7 shows in the middle of a string of craps numbers.

if this is in reference to my opening post, I have never played the 3way/Hi Lo bet just saw it and was contemplating it vs my horn or world bets. I had never even bet a 3way craps until Biloxi this year.If i had i probably would have known it paid 21 instead of (3 pays 15,2 pays 28 an 12pay 28).r_v_23 got me straight on that one. 22inside was playing 3way some on his comeouts and i was playing next to him. When i am next to someone i think is a good shooter that knows his toss and numbers i will bet with him. I think he was doing it because he gets 3s from his 3v set.

I usaully bet horn high ace deuce or 2way 4&1 horn depending on whats been rolling.

That's a really good example of the benefits gained from playing with a group and seeing what others do and how they handle themselves in the middle of the action. 22Inside & I were next to each other last year in Heavy's class during a live play session and we just feed off each other and with raised awareness, I raised my bets on his hand and it turned out to be the difference between a winning trip & a losing trip.

Another tidbit from the world of golf.... after I got out of school and started golfing with the guys at work, most of them were better than me..... for awhile..... I just kept working on my game, and after a year or so, I had closed the gap and was keeping pace with them. I see the same thing with craps.... when I started DI (nearly 15 years ago - yeah really) a lot of really generous people helped me. Spending time with people like Heavy, Beau, Irish, Maddog, Roadrunner, Stanford, soft Touch, Big Wave Dave, plus all the many players who had been at this longer than me, really speed me on the path.

Keep charging, Nate
