Money You Don't Lose

Setting and influencing the dice roll is just part of the picture. To beat the dice you have to know how to bet the dice. Whether you call it a "system," a "strategy," or just a way to play - this is the place to discuss it.

Money You Don't Lose

Post by huey66 » Thu Sep 21, 2017 10:40 pm

First time starting a thread on this forum. Hoping not to disappoint all the seasoned veterans of this site.

Heading to Vegas on October 2nd for 5 days. Practice time over the summer was minimal ( damn farming can get in the way of the fun things over the summer ) but I have been throwing a lot over the last two months. Things feel pretty good with the toss and the results are decent as well. I stick to the 3V set which seems to produce good numbers for me. My go to strategies when I toss are Heavy's Heat Seeker and Grafstein's 6/8 Stretch Play.

Last trip to Vegas I played predominantly the heat seeker but I did not consistently qualify the shooter. I did OK for a conservative bettor but my discipline and strategy play sucked. The last month of practicing my toss and betting moves in the craps pit has also included discipline and qualifying myself before I bet and you won't believe the number of PSO's and PPSO's that I am not losing money to. I am putting money on the table when my toss is on and the lock up rack tends to fill up. When the toss is off I'm just tossing!

Here is the crazy thing: The money I'm not losing seems like as much a win as the money I win. Am I on to something?

I am hoping this discipline will carry over to our Vegas trip in a couple weeks. It seems to be much more difficult in live action but I will try.

Money you do not lose is indeed equivalent to a win. It may not be as exciting as winning it outright, but it spends just as well.

This reminds me of DiceTrakkr's old "Beat the Odds" statement" In order to win $100 you first have to learn how not to lose $100. I agree with that. However, the other thing I'll point out is going from a $100 loss to a $100 win is a $200 swing in that situation. LOL.

You might also refresh yourself on my recent comments on not having to win the same money twice. It sucks to play the YOYO game all week and end up leaving with less than you came to town with when you were up thousands at one point or another. If you find yourself in one of those bright shining moments where you score a several thousand dollar win - go ahead and put half of that plus all of the rest of you cash in the room safe and leave it there until you go home. Play with the other half of your winnings and, if you lose half of that, spend the next couple of days sightseeing and take that home as well.

Look at playing the casinos as a long War. Consider each one of your dollars you gamble with as an individual soldier. Each time you play is a battle. When the casino wins, your soldiers ($) are prisoners of war. When you win, you rescue your soldiers or start taking POWs from the casino. You can always fight another day.

So, if no prisoners are taken by the casino....that is a good day. The casino will always have the bigger army.
