My New Method of Play

Post by Spike8850 » Tue Jan 03, 2017 11:09 pm

Tried this at Hollywood Toledo yesterday....give me your thoughts

$400 buyin, $10 table. This provides 10 shooters' worth. Here we go. $10 DP, add single odds. $10 DC, when it moves, remove odds, wait for decision. If both bets win, I'm +2. If one goes down, I add the odds back on to the other bet, if it wins I'm +1, $10 loser, $10 with odds winner. On a CO7 or F'n 11, I replace once and put odds on. If he rolls CO winner again, I'm through with him, put remaining $20 in back rack (with all other winners), and wait for new shooter. Obviously if I lose both bets, or he bullfrogs the DP, leave the flat DC and done. Parlay once, no odds. If that bet wins, it's +3.

I've been wargaming on Wincraps and here's when I increase. If I get to +8, next bet I keep odds on both (I've borrowed $20 from the $80 I've just won, locking up $60. I still am working with the $40 I started with. If the shooter rolls CO winner, I replace once and add double odds. One loss, I still leave the odds on and if it wins I lock it all up and start with a fresh $40. If table stays cold and I make it to +8 again (reset win clock), I go to double odds

Win Goal, 25%. Loss Limit, 50%

Yesterday played about 2 hours, made it to the increase once(at the end), cashed out +$21. Table was choppy, got bullfrogged three or four times.

What do you think?

I'd prefer not to come back on the same shooter immediately after getting knocked off by a come out seven or eleven. Instead, you might think about waiting until that shooter sets a point, then lay against that point for one roll in order to get a $20 DC bet established. Then remove the lay and wait for a decision on the DC.

Of course, my old "standard" from years gone by is a $15 DP. Get the point established then make a $10 DC. The DC is hedged against the seven by the larger DP. If I get knocked off either bet once established I'll typically lay sufficient odds to recoup that bet when I win the other one (assuming I do). Hey, SOMETIMES it works out.

Anyway, didn't mean to hijack you too much. Glad to see you thinking on new approaches to the Don'ts.

Looks a strong way of playing the don'ts Spike that you have given plenty of thought to. Splitting up your buy-in to give you 10 shooters' worth is a good way to go along with using the front rack/back rack system as a means of accounting for your money as you go through each hand.

H has some good thought on possible tweaks you can consider.

One question from me - how are you handling the CO winners you get from a shooter throwing 2s and 3s?

Not a bad way to play , Spike. I would be happy with a $21 win for two hours of play.

Once you get a point established , all the "books" say to pile on the odds and keep them on , because you have the advantage over the casino in the long run , at that time only (after the point is established).

Well , when one is dealing with a limited bankroll, like mine, you must take precautions in order to also preserve some of your bankroll for future play.
A lot of players would not thrilled with the possibility of only winning one or two units per shooter.

A DP or a DC wager, with or without odds , is a decent craps play .

Agree. Good way to play. I usually avoid the DP and go directly to DC after laying against the CO. And I'll usually go a $1 yo when I make the DC. I realize hedging adds up over time, but I'm not always on the don't. If I get hit, I will usually stop and see what the next shooter is doing. Could be a rhythm roller..things can change fast.

First, sorry Heavy, this WAS taken from your "Oldie but Goodie" file. Forgot to mention that.
I've been parlaying craps rolls, then when they move, I don't need odds, they're built in, ala Sam G. The plan is, if another craps rolls, is to take down the winnings, and keep up the two unit parlay. That way, if it loses, I'll still have the same amount won if I'd flat bet, but have another opportunity to win another parlay.

Here's where both war gaming and real play both come in handy. Monday a shooter rolled 8, 3, 2, 11(ouch), 3, 3, 9, 7 out. Seeing that $40 parlay scraped up by the dealer was a hard one to swallow. All those craps rolls and I lost ten bucks. So now if the same thing happens in the DC, I'll win 1 unit. If it happens in the DP, I'll win six. One before the 11, and 5 units with the second bet. It It doesn't hurt when playing Wincraps, but does at a table.

On the other hand, this started out as a play for the DC, but all the Point Point 7's that were pushes (I didn't start out laying odds), and the Point 7's losing, it ended up like this. Heck, these are cold tables and I'm not winning anything! Wincraps helped here.

Sorry I was long winded.

How I play don'ts when table runs choppy...

10$ dp, 15$ dc, 20$ dc. If one get knocked drop 30 odds on both others. If a second get knocked, drop my odds and wait for next shooter. On a good run you get up 200-250$ quick and get the hell out.

I would reverse the order of those and make it $20, $15, then $10. Once the $20 is established it hedges the $15 bet. Once you have the $15 bet established you cold play up to $30 on the third number and still have a hedge effect.

Yeah well comeout seven hurts the most. Which is why I've been going the opposite. When there is too many comeout sevens I just skip till the point is made.
