Cow tipping trip report

Post by herosdroid@gmail.com » Fri Nov 04, 2016 9:49 pm

Last seven sesh wins playing 25 dollar and 50 dollar dp sessions

1000
1000
1000 (this and next sessions all Vegas)
800
1200 *50 dollar dp
400 (7 hours... Ouch)
500 (one hour pitt)

Average game time 5 hours.

It's a grind... But the cows got tipped. It also gives me extreme anxiety when I get up around the 10th bet level...

Thankfully in Pittsburgh people lose a lot. In Vegas people were winning a lot and cow tipping took twice as long to produce the same results

Are these amounts all pluses?

If I am not mistaken Dylan had a few betting variations out of curiosity which version are you playing?

Best of luck.

I suppose the obvious question would be how much would you lose in a session if it all went wrong? If level 10 gives you extreme anxiety, I take it you must have had some v large bets on the felt?

The goal of the session is either to win, or lose the entire buyin amount. So hopefully, even if I crap out I'm still a head in two ways, total played sessions and over the initial buyin for the day. However, I usually just go for a profit or complete 0 out. But that's me.

Those are all session wins on buyins of 900 and 1800. Roughly this gives me 10 bets per initial stack.

Now... Here's where you can make a judgment call. If you're over your initial buyin you can either move to the next higher betting range, or continue to use the same range but extend the 10 bet crap out limit higher.

As far as what to do if you lose 10 bets in a row... Theoretically (or the smart thing to do) I should just walk with the Winnings for the day (if any), but I'm typically the kind of person who would rather have another 5 in the tank ready to go. So far, the furtherst I've gone was 12 bets (win).

I limit losses to 2 per shooter on a choppy/warm/high come out 7, table. I parlay every comeout crap on pre cow tip, and use a come out crap on a cow tip to end the series.

I been having better luck on tables with a small amount of players to keep the game speed up. That's the killer of this system is slow game speed.

Haven't had a losing session yet, but it's coming.

I appreciate your realistic approach. On the other hand, as Darth Nater would way, "Your lack of faith disturbs me . . . "

One thing that troubles me with the play is "the goal is to win or lose the entire buy-in." I'd definitely want to refine that to add a stop-loss. Whenever I used to take that "win or lose anything" approach in the stock market I always got my ass handed to me. Just doesn't make sense to me on a gut level.

The only issue I'm struggling with is... What is the stop loss for this method. So far, mine is:

Slow tables (lots of betting or winning...)
Tables that aren't generating back to back losses

Those tell me to switch tables.

The reason why I kinda prefer the lose it all vs. Have a certain $ loss value set is as follows...

Im more confident that I'll eventually win a back to back bet the more bets I can afford to play. Example, if I start with ten possible bets but because of Winnings I now have 20 possible bets. If I stop at 10 losses, or less, I might simply be one bet away from being back in the game. And that doesn't sit well with me.

Cons to playing this way?

#1 you aren't gonna have any big wins
#2 have to sit there and watch a big hand unfold and every make a few grand while you wait for it to end.

I'd eventually like to add the 6/8 play into this strategy and use those Winnings to build across the board for large hands so I can catch some extra cash when the opportunity happens... And also for my boredom.

Maybe we should start a topic on what players use to determine a buy in and how they determine a loss limit ; and is the loss limit and buy in the same or should the loss limit be separate from the buy in.

Learning to take wins at less than optimal levels is huge. Back in the day I would watch Dave play for 15 minutes at the open, hit his target and run. At other times I would se him at the table at 4pm and he would tell me he has een there since the open and was trying to dig himself out. Targets are nice but Pluses (+) are a pretty site as well.

Good Luck.

Targets are def a good way to screw yourself. Might be ten short and roll again and lose it all. I started trying to just time myself a certain window of time to play and wherever I'm at in at. Since cow tipping the way I'm playing it is all or nothing, I'll finish the series if time is up. I'm either ahead, or walking out empty handed.

This weekends sessions went as follows

Friday 580
Sat 670
Sunday 790 with a free dinner... Last bet on the felt was 315 (11 bets in). Rolled 3, 3. Immediately left haha
