Re: Blackjack - The game most craps players love to hate
The death-knell of Blackjack began a while ago with these new 6/5 payouts. This article goes on to explain that Las Vegas BJ revenue is now less than 25% of house revenue. At one time it was more than 50% of revenue. Gee, I wonder why? http://finance.yahoo.com/news/vegas-casinos-cut-payout-blackjack...

Re: Down a Hundered - End of the World?
I like placing the five or nine for $10 and pressing to a quarter by dropping a $1. I then regress the $25 five or nine on second hit into a Dime and collect $50. A full press on first hit of a $12 six or eight and down on second hit is another play. Do that several times on different shooters and y...

Re: 25$ minimum table question
My experience has been that it depends on the casino. I've tried placing odds for less than table minimum and have been told that my odds bet has to meet the table minimum. Others don't seem to care.

You kept to your loss limit. I could armchair quarterback your second attempt at the tables, but overall you did the right thing. A win is a win in my book. Take the money and run.

Re: My way of betting on random players
Gargoil, it is definitely a valid way to play the randies while minimizing your exposure. It could be a slow grind over time, other times you may get some decent returns. Being an action junkie and risk averse at the same time, I'll start with a table minimum passline bet, no hedge. On come out 7 or...

Re: consistent income???
Until you have $2 million salted away (in retirement accounts, etc) that is throwing off $60-$80G's per year in investment income (conservative estimate) to meet living expenses, plus your craps bankroll, I would discourage any attempts to go "Pro" where "Pro" is your only means ...

Re: If you keep a log, what do you record in it?
My record-keeping is still a work in progress. It is evolving. I've always tracked my Buy-Ins and what I left with for each session at the tables. I usually record the following: 1) Date 2) Casino 3) Game Played 4) Buy-In 5) Cash-Out from session 6) Net Win/Loss from session After reading one of bob...

Re: What do you do with your winnings after you leave?
1) Do you keep a log and record your winnings? Yes 2) Do you skim $500 off the top for later buy-ins and put the rest in the bank? I take 50% and place in a "HOME" envelope to bring home. The other 50% is "rolled forward" and is available for future sessions on the trip. 3) If yo...

Re: Win goal per shooter??
As long as the net winnings are a net positive, I would be a happy camper. The more, the merrier. However, we must remember Heavy's sage advice, "the best bet on a random shooter is no bet at all."

I'll try to stick around for another opportunity to toss if the table is not too full. If the table is full, I take the money and run! My experience (anecdotally) has been to lose the slow grind as the dice try to make their way back to me when the table is packed. I think the old saying "Don't...

Best time for a full regression?
You know the game, $10 min table, a shooter is having a decent roll. You've collected on your initial place bets and have started spreading more bets across. He continues to roll, you collect, press, collect... Your exposure across is growing exponentially. At what point to you call all your bets do...

Re: The concept of "Stupid Money"
The stupid money I bring to a casino is usually a separate bankroll I use on the games that have a higher house edge than some of the better craps bets. I play a few different games for the entertainment they bring and if I need a break from the craps tables. It could be slots, roulette, 3-card Poke...

Re: A different way to guage table success?
If you are disciplined and enjoy recordkeeping, any additional data that can be collected is a good thing. Its funny, when we look at the traditional investing of our money we consider a good ROI (Return on Investment) to be in the neighborhood of 8%-10%. When we enter a casino, our greed gets the b...
