Re: If you had 100% on axis, how would you bet?

Right, Memo, it's the probability stuff. Every percentage point you move the needle away from the median of on-axis improvement is more difficult then the last. I once described it as being like poor Sisyphus pushing his rock up the hill. Each step more difficult then the last and the unrelenting gr...

Re: If you had 100% on axis, how would you bet?

...Some of the best shooters I have seen have put in untold numbers of practice in order to reach that pinnacle of 50% on axis... This is a good point Memo, though I'm not sure I would characterize 50% as the "Pinnacle", but more like the DI target on-axis percentage. When I'm really on m...

Re: If you had 100% on axis, how would you bet?

Reminds me of the old graphs I did that showed on-axis proficency stepping up in 5% incremental improvements. If there is intrest maybe I can did those up again... From a theoretical point of view and 100% on-axis proficienly I would work with the 100% on-axis theoretical distribution and work my st...

Re: Craps Betting Strategy Game - New Thread

Taboo... Don't you have $10 in on the Field?

A roll of '2' should spin you off a $20 win. Keep an eye on those dealers and make sure you get paid before the dice roll again.

Re: Question on BoneTracker

…What I like about BT so far, is it uses my rolls. It's weak in betting. The betting is ok but it can't take into account pressing etc (unless it can and I've missed it)… That is a good observation Pointman, and no, you haven’t missed it, BT does not provide much by way of betting. Although there h...

Re: Question on BoneTracker

Pointman, just a “point” of caution. Use the DT HA/PA results carefully and as indicators, not as actual expectations. DiceTool provides a model, an approximation based on your tracked foundation frequencies. Use it as an indication of what is possible and then test the theory with either practice/...

Re: Working on the Come Out (WOTC)

There are two criteria that I use to determine if I will Work on the Come-Out; First I have to feel that my shooting is “on”. Not just ok, or good, but spot on, like I own the table. Second is that I have to have the place bets pressed up to a reasonable level. A level where a hit on the place bet ...

Re: Place Betting the Six and EIGHT

Hey Nune, Not sure I'm following what you are getting at with your post? Here is a thought, a simple rule of thumb, regarding how long does it take to get to a profit: You must get one paying hit for each of the bets you make before you can make profit. For example you bet the inside numbers plus p...

Re: Prop Plays - What Costs More?

What is really interesting about this question is that it makes us think about the effect of bet resolution rate. The Wizard of Odds has given an excellent tool for helping to calculate out the "cost" of bets over time at the following link: Wizard Of Odds - Appendix 2 Using this tool mak...

Re: Prop Plays - What Costs More?

OOOOhhhh this is a very interesting question. I have done some figuring and believe I have the answer, however I don’t want to post it just yet. I will say that Heavy is correct that it is not as simple as which bet has the most house advantage. The trick to this question has to do with the number o...

Re: ODDS QUESTION

Like realtime, I have seen both situations. Most houses will allow it. In the situations where I have seen it done the dealer makes a statement of some kind so there is no questions about the payoff. The one thing I have NOT seen is taking odds less then the table minimum. For example a $10 table......

Re: Which is better to base bets on?

My thoughts are to pick a set and stick with it. Heavy is spot on with his advice regarding switching sets during a hand or even a session. There are times when it makes sense to do it, but for the most part I believe it is more effective to use the set with which you are most comfortable and bet t...

Re: The All, Small or Tall Bet

I think of this bet the same way Heavy mentioned; as a recreational bet. It's a fun bet to win, and as a DI we improve our odds of connecting it, but it is still a LOOOONG shot type of thing even with some dice influence. When I was playing this with Irishsetter (the session Heavy mentioned), I was ...

Re: Working on the Come Out (WOTCO)

Yes, I work my bets on the Come-Out roll…. sometimes . You might be thinking, “Sometimes? Ok what is your trigger to work on the Come-Out?” Well, for me there is not a specific formula that drives my betting. I have several strategies that I modify and adjust to fit the situation at hand. I’m not tr...

Creating a Table in your post

This board support posting grids, sometimes called "Tables" inside your posts. Yes, doing tables using the BBCode is a pain in the derriere, but once you understand the hierarchy of the tags it is at least doable. Here is a short tutorial on how to create a table within your post. First un...

Re: Heavy's Squeezebox (Outside - In) Progression

I sometimes play a low-budget variation to Heavy’s Outside-In Squeeze. After the point is set, Place bet $22 inside ($5 five, $6 six, $6 eight, $5 nine). If the point is an inside number, I don’t Place bet the point number. If the six or eight hit, same bet. If the five or nine hit, take down that b...
