Re: Decreasing the "Don't Pass" bet
O.K. Here, I will tell on myself. I like the don't, but if a hand goes past 9-10 tosses, I do get nervous (make that paranoid) and will sometimes start a reduction. Odd thing is, about 50% of the time I am wrong. My thinking on this is that if the shooter has gotten past the math of a seven out he j...

Re: Hit and Run Anyone?
On a hit and run, saw one fellow just watch the table for a few minutes, then layed the 10, two rolls later, collected and was gone. Seems as good a way as any to make a buck or two. I see no reason why not say at the table and do that: When the shooter gets deep into the hand and not rolling a bunc...

Re: How Do You Play Other DI's
Play them whether you know them or not very carefully. Simply because the hand before this one was a monster does not mean this one will also be one. Too many times the second go just doesn't work. Short Story. In Biloxia once, at the table with four terrific DI's whom I have known for years. Me, $2...

Re: Free Odds - the Best Bet?
WC: As MP once pointed out, I have a risk aversion. That is why I prefer the dark side. I can lose one bet at a time but when I win, it picks up the loss plus extra. Getting paid 50% or 66% or so on a bet is actually to me irrelevant. Since I can win more than one bet at a time, the actual payout is...

Re: Free Odds - the Best Bet?
Here I am curious again, MP. My personal preference is the dark. What makes one a little nervous is the 8 ways to lose on the CO. So, by playing a doey-don't and neutralizing the C.O. more or less, one would then be working only with the free odds. Of course, winning all bets at once is certainly be...

Re: Ol' Hank's 4/10 DP Craps System...Turbo tweaked to work
My last trip to S/B there was a guy next to me playing a similar system. The difference was that he would doey-dont come bets to get the four and ten. It dawned on me after I got home that he was avoiding the juice to lay these bets. When the doey-dont went to an inside number, he did nothing with t...

Re: many numbers or just the number you want
AD: The point is to not seven out until you are ready. There is not a person on this board that would not be happy to do 20 tosses per hand. Making the 4 is basically irrelevant. If four is your point and you make it, guess what? Ya get to do it again. Make hay on the eights.

Re: Pai Gow Poker - One of the best games for casual players
Wow Heavy, it's been a long time since I have played this, but it seems there was, what, a Dragon Bet, where you could put up $1 upward and if you got like a full house, it paid 4-1, a straight flush a bunch, etc. The beauty of this was after you set and played your hand, then you could combine both...

I think that might probably, likely work exactly one time. Then, new rules would come into play. I do not want to be a wet blanket here, but these box critters and TGM's are not always ignorant and when they see what is going on, the S*** would probably hit the fan, especially if three consecutive s...

CF: If this is accurate, it is made to order for doing the hopping sevens discussed a while back. That could pay big dividends without a large outlay in stocks.

My oar in the water: Take the time to peruse the don't writing of our pal over on the DI board. He has written a bunch on a don't Strategy. With the other oar in the water, why doesn't your pal play this. I would not touch it with a dollar chip. You have too much outlay for too little income even wh...

Re: dont pass-worth it or not?
I believe that most die hard right side players have an aversion to getting less money back than the original bet on the odds. Somehow, that just goes against their grain. Makes no difference that it is basically the same bet. They just want to win more. They absolutely love it getting 2-1 on odds f...

Re: Newbie.......My First Long Roll
One last point: The $300 buy-in is not "small". It is a comfort level. That buy-in is probably bigger than 85% of the players at the table. Most buy in for about a hundred, unless you are in a depressed area where they buy-in for $20-30 bucks or so. ABQ comes to mind as a trip report menti...

Re: Are there any professional craps players ?
I do recall Heavy and MP mentioning some time ago about some groups/gangs/whatever of three or so players that traveled from casino to casino, one a shooter, the other two or so bettors. Whether they still exist, I haven't a clue. Maybe MP and Heavy's memory is better than mine - they have to be. If...
