Sometimes. In a lot of cases however, it's a big bankroll drain and should be used primarily on known shooters.

Re: The All, Small or Tall Bet
Congrats on the ATS hit!
Interesting layout of the ATS on this table. The stick is responsible for marking the numbers rather than the two dealers or the box.

Re: Using a bet as at "tool"
I use the Field bet as a tool to populate other numbers when using the Iron Cross strategy. Good point. I'll do this OCCASIONALLY on a known shooter, but ONLY when the point is the 5, 6, or 8 so I don't have to cover an additional number in the IC to make it work. Once I have bets across, though, I...

Re: Using a bet as at "tool"
Personally, I only hedge when I play the don't in two ways. If I am playing the patrick system, I lay enough against the point to cover my first DC bet. Then I take the lay down and make a second DC bet for an amount less than the first DC. So for two rolls I am hedging against the 7. This is one o...

Re: Using a bet as at "tool"
I'm thinking it's more in relation to the size of the all day HW bet and its expected payout. The goal would be to cover close to what the ADHW payout would be, or at least a good portion of it. Yes the payout of a HW hop is 30-1 so for a $10 ADHW bet you're looking at $2-3 hop depending how much of...

Re: Using a bet as at "tool"
How much do you hop the numbers for BD? Do you size of the hop bets independent of one another and make them related to how large the all day HW is for each number?

Speaking of hardways...
On the comeout, leave the hardways not working and hop the hardway(s) that are parlayed up.

Re: Using a bet as at "tool"
Three way craps, Horn or World bet and pass line. Some use it as a true AP play, but can also be used as a hedge on the CO. The coverage on the Yo if you elect to go with a Horn or World bet is not really a hedge though and just exposes an extra buck for an additional high house advantage wager.

Re: What is your "trigger" for pressing your bets?
Granted that we do (or should be) looking back on prior session results. However, I try not to do it with an eye towards looking at them from a short term point of view, but more so looking for trends in what about my normal progression schedules I keep questioning and whether or not making some sor...

Re: What is your "trigger" for pressing your bets?
I can't tell you how many times that i have been at the table and not taken advantage of a long hand i have said to myself damn i'm missing a hand that could get me even or ahead for the session, day or trip! On a recent trip i had $90 on the 6 or 8 and usually my next move would be to $120 i took ...

Or, go 2 hits and regress to $96 across. $2 profit locked up. All sorts of reasonable possibilities here.

Re: What is your "trigger" for pressing your bets?
On my last trip to Biloxi I reached $420 on several occasions on the six or eight but NEVER got a hit at $420. As a result, by the last day of my trip I was just staying at $180 and waiting for another $210. I figured I could content myself with two more black chips in the rack. Yeah, you somehow w...

Re: What is your "trigger" for pressing your bets?
I like going 180->420 as well. As I'm tracking 6 and 8 together in their own separate progressions, the first one that reaches this level goes to 420. The second goes to 300 then to 420.

Re: Why not skip the come out roll and just lay the point?
Oh, so if the point is 4 and you lay $20 you actually get $10? I was thinking that laying the 4 for $20 would get you $20. Was not aware that laying a number actually is the odds bet. Now that makes sense. That's correct LPC. Lay bets pay the inverse of the equivalent buy (or free odds) bets. So pa...

Re: Steep regression play on tables with known shooters
Yeah, we all took a beating at the start on the first trip around the table, even at the lower minimum. I was also nearing my stop loss limit as well but stuck it out and we started having better rolls. I colored up with a nice profit at the end of the night. If we were at $25, I would never have su...

Re: Steep regression play on tables with known shooters
Well, despite the best laid plans, the reasons for exploring the play I outlined wound up being unnecessary. I posted a trip report of that weekend and the private table we were playing on changed at the last minute from a $25 min, ATS table to $10 min FIre bet one. Totally messed with my head for a...

Re: The All, Small or Tall Bet
I play the GWAG, so I love my comeout sevens. Teach you degenerate gamblers to bet ats while I shoot. Part of GWAG is avoiding hi-low, so it’s impractical for me to bet it. Then if the payouts are 30-150-30, well I question if you are smarter than a fifth grader. Well, my GWAG includes shooting for...

Re: The All, Small or Tall Bet
That time estimate seems a bit excessive :) Some of it may depend on how they treat the existing ATS bets that need to be re-established. I've seen some places where they remove all of the bets first and then have to place them all back up again, which is insane. Most places, leave the bets up and t...
